Sustainable Design Coordinator

Opsis Architecture is currently seeking a part- or full-time Sustainable Design Coordinator who reports to the Sustainable Design Director. This person will work closely with project teams to advance project sustainability initiatives including LEED, Net-Zero and LBC, research, and performance based-design through environmental analysis. S/he will help build upon the firm’s expertise in sustainability by acting as a resource in this field, as well as helping to implement specific sustainability-related measures.



  • LEED and LBC analysis, documentation and project coordination.
  • Sustainability-related research, including materials, technologies, and systems.
  • Environmental analysis, including climate, solar, daylight and thermal analysis.
  • Serving as a resource to staff on sustainability related-questions.
  • Tracking 2030 Challenge Data and performing tracking analysis.
  • Post-occupancy evaluation development and administration.
  • Working with the Technical Design and QA/QC Focus Teams to improve sustainability requirements in project specifications.
  • Working with Sustainable Design Director to integrate environmental analysis into workflows.
  • Coordinate Energy Trust of Oregon incentive requirements.
  • Representing Opsis Architecture at various sustainability professional events.


  • Well versed in the principles of sustainable design and environmental analysis.
  • LEED Accredited Professional with Specialty (BD+C or ID+C).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Environmental Science or related field.
  • 2-5 years of work experience related to sustainability and the built environment, with prior experience in LEED project management and building performance simulation.
  • Proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Experience with environmental analysis software such as Sefaira, Autodesk Insight, Ladybug, HoneyBee, DIVA, Therm, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal, graphic, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task on multiple projects.
  • Must be proactive, analytical, detail-oriented and a self-starter.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Experience with Revit preferred.
  • WELL AP, FitWell and/or Certified Passive House Designer are an asset.
  • Experience with energy modeling software such as PHPP, WUFI Passive and/or EQuest is an asset.
