Hood River Wy’East Performing Arts Center Case Study

The new performing arts center at the Hood River Wy’East Middle School serves as the centerpiece for the school and surrounding community of Odell, near Hood River, Oregon. Along with the new facility, extensive renovations supplement the school’s science and technology instruction. A conversion of the adjacent building’s home economics room, which had doubled as the music room, creates a state-of-the-art science laboratory. A new specially designed performance hall is now devoted to the music and choral programs. Other improvements include a new plaza entry to unify the site and additional classroom space.
