With over 100,000 students on five campuses, PCC is one of the country’s largest community colleges. Opsis conducted a comprehensive programming and planning study for the four major campuses: Sylvania, Cascade, Rock Creek, and Southeast Center. Working with individual Campus Presidents, Campus Deans and District Administrations, Opsis analyzed short- and long-term program growth and their resulting facilities needs. From a masterplanning approach, each site was analyzed for how new construction could enhance individual campus pedestrian frameworks, create gateways to adjacent neighborhoods and better utilize existing land area. In addition, Opsis created the first campus digital facilities inventory for every campus building. This graphic resource contains embedded data for each room including current use type and floor area.

This $375 million project establishes the final cost estimating and programming for buildings on each of the four campuses in preparation for bond issuance. The scope of the programming work on this project includes upgrades to multiple science and technology buildings, childcare and medical facilities, social services facilities, professional and technical education buildings, and libraries, as well as upgrades to campus stormwater systems, parking facilities, and landscaping.
