opsis architecture

Opsis worked with the Bend Parks and Recreation District (BPRD)District for the conversion of a former 3.25 acre parking lot into a new 30,000 sf covered open-air recreation and event center with approximately 10,000 additional square feet of indoor support space. The facility includes a full size NHL ice rink during the winter months and numerous activities such as tennis, basketball, and concerts in the summer. The site was redeveloped with an iconic pavilion structure, support facilities, a courtyard green, and flexible lawn spaces adjacent to the pavilion for community events. The open-air structure creates an inviting atmosphere, with visibility to all of the activities taking place within. The facility is both highly functional and iconic, featuring prominent use of wood to represent the history of Bend and its connection to the natural environment.
