Senior Designer

Opsis Architecture is a leading Northwest firm combining a commitment to design excellence with a passion for innovative, sustainable solutions. Our practice ranges from Higher Education and Cultural Arts to Community Centers, and Commercial Development, with projects throughout the western states.

We are searching for a senior design architect (10+ years) with exceptional design skills, a portfolio of innovative design concepts, an emphasis on built work, a strong design voice and interest in design focused leadership within the firm. Unequivocal demonstration of such design experience and related skills through the resume, portfolio, interview and references will be a focal point of our search to fill this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Involvement in all phases of the design process including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents and construction administration.
  • Manage multiple design efforts on several projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop solutions to design problems.
  • Ability to utilize 3D visualization as part of the design process.
  • Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings.
  • Utilize hand rendering techniques to communicate design concepts.
  • Analyze sketches, notes, site survey of existing conditions for completion of drawings, space planning.
  • Incorporate integrated and sustainable design solutions into projects.
  • Foster close collaboration with design team, clients, consultants, contractors and vendors.
  • Partner with other senior staff in business development and the building of the architectural practice.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
  • Professional Architect License.
  • 10+ years of relevant architecture and design experience, with a strong background designing multiple building typologies of varying scale.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Sketchup, Photoshop and Powerpoint.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong leadership, management and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships within the firm as well as with clients, consultants and industry partners.
  • Possession and demonstrated use of strong communication and interpersonal skills.
