The Willamette View Master Plan provides a long-term roadmap for the redevelopment of the campus to meet contemporary senior care community standards and anticipate current and changing market demands for the quality of community’s physical environment. With over 25 acres on its main campus plus additional property east of River Road, Willamette View has a significant land resources that can be leveraged to support additional housing units, which can in turn support improvements to the overall campus facilities. The master plan provides guidance on facility replacement strategies and maximizing long-term development in a cohesive manner.
The plan was developed through an interactive process involving staff and administration to find solutions that strengthen to existing positive qualities of Willamette View, while addressing the many issues that have resulted from the piecemeal growth and planning of the campus over time.
The resulting plan envisions a community-focused environment that captures the uniquely beautiful setting along the Willamette River and creates a clear central outdoor space organized along a pedestrian mall.
Phase 1
The development of the future building massing was based on maximizing views to the river and planning for a variety of building heights and shapes that create visual interest and unique identities. The plan sets the stage for the growth of the campus from 402 units to a long-range capacity of 751 units in a mixture of independent living, assisted living and memory care. The concept design option included in the plan envisions a housing tower element that would become the new landmark for Willamette View.
