Architectural Designer (Arch 2-3)

Full Time – Hybrid Work Schedule

Opsis is seeking an Architectural Designer who is driven by architectural excellence, craft, curiosity, and a desire to grow within an ambitious, collaborative studio practice. This role is ideal for a talented, curious, and motivated emerging professional with 2-5 years of experience who enjoys contributing to the development of thoughtful, compelling, and buildable design solutions through close collaboration with Principals and multidisciplinary project teams across a range of complex, mission-driven projects. This position offers the opportunity to build technical and design skills, contribute meaningfully to project work in all phases, and contribute to a vibrant studio culture rooted in conceptual thinking, rigorous execution, sustainability, and design excellence.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Assist project team(s) through all phases of design, documentation, and construction administration
  • Prepare and develop architectural drawings, primarily utilizing Revit models and workflows that communicate design intent with completed project documentation
  • Support design studies, conceptual design exploration, presentation graphics through diagrams, renderings and other visual communication materials for internal review, client presentations, and community engagement
  • Assist project team(s) with building code, zoning, and accessibility research and documentation
  • Assist project team(s) with evaluation and selection of materials finishes, products and building systems in alignment with project goals, performance requirements, sustainability objectives and budget
  • Team members are expected to actively pursue architectural licensure through completion of NCARB AXP requirements and ARE examinations. Opsis provides mentorship, professional development opportunities and financial support to assist employees in achieving licensure.
  • Assist project team(s) in the coordination of assigned portions of work with structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, landscape, cost, and/or specialty consultants

Required

  • Architectural Designer with 2 – 5 years of architecture experience
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in architecture with an accredited architecture program
  • Excellent graphic and presentation drawing skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively through all phases of design, from early concept development through construction administration
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills
  • Proficiency with Revit and Enscape
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with project teams, clients and consultants
  • Ability to manage assigned tasks with attention to schedule, detail, quality, accuracy, and communication with the broader project team
