Opsis Celebrates the Promotion of Lauren Loosveldt to Principal

Opsis announces the promotion of Lauren Loosveldt AIA, LEED AP BD+C, DBIA to Principal.

Over her tenure at Opsis, Lauren has made a lasting impact through the strong relationships she builds and her commitment to a people-centered studio culture. Her contributions have helped grow Opsis’s practice while guiding complex projects with clarity, responsiveness and collaboration.

Lauren’s work spans public and private clients across the region, with experience in higher education, civic work and a wide range of project types. An early adopter of alternative delivery methods, she has become a leader in Progressive Design-Build delivery. Her work is grounded in place and focused on creating meaningful benefits for students, clients and communities.

Milestone projects include the Oregon State University-Cascades Student Success Center, Clackamas Community College (CCC) Wacheno Welcome Center and the CCC Natural Resources Center of Excellence. Additional work includes the Richland City Hall project, Central Washington University’s Multicultural Center and Boise State University’s Albertsons Stadium North End Zone Expansion, which opens this summer. Within Opsis, she has been instrumental in creating opportunities for professional growth and a welcoming, inclusive workplace culture for all staff. Lauren has also been an active advocate for sustainability initiatives and a driving force behind the evolution of firm’s mentorship program.

Throughout her career, Lauren has been a passionate advocate for design that fosters a more inclusive and equitable world. With a dual background in architecture and interior design, she brings a holistic perspective to firm leadership, advancing a unified design vision through a practical, solution-oriented approach. Her ability to connect with clients, colleagues, consultants and contractors creates lasting relationships and makes the project process both productive and enjoyable.

In addition to her work at Opsis, Lauren has contributed to Portland’s design industry and her community. She volunteered with the AIA Committee on the Environment and served as the Commission Chair for the City of Milwaukie and Chair of the City of Milwaukie’s Design and Landmarks Committee. Lauren has also shared her experience through presentations at the Association of College Unions International National Conference, the Design-Build Institute of America Northwest Region Conference and at Greenbuild International. Her presentations have covered topics ranging from one-stop student centers to partnerships and solutions that address the housing crisis. Her contributions have also been recognized through the Daily Journal of Commerce Women of Vision awards program.
